Tournament Director’s Decision - Breach of FIH Code of Conduct

Match 14: Argentina v Korea

Date: Thursday 5th Dec 2013

Player: No 29 Park Seung A

Player No. 29 Park Seung A is found to have violated the following Rules and Directives of the FIH Code of Conduct.

  1.   Participants shall at all times conduct themselves fairly and properly on the field of play and any part of the hockey venue / accommodation. No person may conduct themselves in a manner or commit any act or omission which may prejudice the interest of hockey or which may bring the game of hockey into disrepute.
  2. Without prejudice to the generality of the foregoing, the following shall be regarded as conduct which is improper, unfair and unacceptable.
-Inappropriate and deliberate physical contact between players in the course of play.

It is my opinion that this is a level 1 offence because there was deliberate physical conduct without injury to another player.

Due to the facts and findings and taking into account the contrition felt by the player, my decision is as follows:

  1. Park Seung A (no 29) of Korea is suspended for one match.
  2. The match will be Match 17 NZL v KOR on Dec 7th 2013
